I completely support Scioscia's winning of the A.L. manager of the year award. However, I am not sure so sure that if it wasn't for the death of Adenhart that he actually receives this honor. Minus the Adenhart tragedy, he's still deserving and gets the award in my books (don't forget that Scioscia carried this team through a huge injury spell early in the year). But it's important to ask if the writers would have bestowed him with the honor?

There were certainly others who deserved consideration - and got it. Ron Gardenhire, for example, walked away with the most first place votes in either league outside of the two winners.

But in the end, it was Scioscia's steady guidance through highly emotional upsetting times to bring his team back to victory that ultimately earned him his second MoY award.

No one trudged through more muck and came away smelling more rosey than he did.

Mike is a great coach but I really don't see this I would think others did more with less.
