Dwayne Polee a Trojan for now
In 2007, Dwayne Polee Jr. made waves in basketball circles, as the soon to be high school freshman committed to USC before ever playing a high school basketball game.
Now, Polee Jr., a rising junior at Los Angeles Westchester High School, remains committed to USC according to his father Dwayne Polee Sr. who currently works for the Trojans as the director of basketball operations. Last week, Polee Jr. and his mother met with new USC Coach Kevin O’Neill and was impressed enough to remain committed to the Trojan hoops program.
“My wife said it went good. Dwayne liked him too,” Dwayne Sr. said.
Dwayne Sr. also told the Los Angeles Times that his son wants to spend more time watching O’Neill in action “but is committed” to the Trojans.
In what has been a roller coaster offseason, this is certainly a bit of good news for the Trojans not only in terms of basketball but also it terms of the program’s image. While Polee is an outstanding prospect, his commitment to USC makes the Trojans look like a viable option in recruiting circles. To a certain degree it helps to stop the bleeding.
