Game 10: Twins 11, Angels 9
Maybe the Angels really are in trouble.
Dustin Moseley left the game in the third inning because of elbow problems and the Angels’ bullpen once again blew a mammoth-sized lead as the Halos were beat by the Twins 11-9 on Friday night. Jason Bulger was hit with the loss after giving up a go-ahead grand slam to Twins left fielder Jason Kubel (who hit for the cycle) in the eighth inning.
The Angels’ offense suffered a devastating blow earlier Friday, with the report that Vlad Guerrero would be out for at least a month. That didn’t seem to affect the Halos too much, as they pounded Twins pitching for 9 runs on 12 hits, though they acheived only one extra-base hit (a Torii Hunter double).
Thoughts from the game:
- Justin Speier had the best pitching performance of the night. ……really, Angels?
- Kendrick and Morales both finally came alive on Friday, getting 2 hits and 2 RBIs each.
- Can the starting rotation really afford to lose ANOTHER man???
- With Vlad out, Brandon Wood should be given free reign at third base for the next 6 weeks. Will it happen? I can only hope…
